Titanium elastic nail system (TENS) in displaced clavicle midshaft fractures

چکیده
Introduction: Out of all fractures in adult, clavicle accounts 3-5%. These are usually managed conservatively but with changing trends the surgical management (plating) has been put into practice widely. TENS a recent alternative new technique fixation. The aim this study was to investigate effectiveness minimally invasive method- for displaced midshaft non comminuted fractures. Materials and Methods: included total 22 patients fracture. There were 16 males 6 females. mean age 31.9 years. Most surgeries done within 24 48 hrs. Patients followed 9 months. union assessed Clinico-Radiologically. Results: Average follow up 100% achieved. Clinical occurred 3-6 weeks, while radiographic achieved 5-8 weeks. no postoperative infection study. Conclusion: is safe invasive, needs lesser operative time showed faster functional recovery greater patient satisfaction cosmosis.

Overtreatment of displaced midshaft clavicle fractures
Background and purpose - The best treatment for displaced clavicle fractures has been debated for decades. Operative treatment has become more common. However, several randomized trials comparing non-operative and operative treatment have not shown any compelling evidence in favor of surgery. We identified the preferred treatment of displaced midshaft clavicle fractures at public hospitals in 3...
متن کاملTreatment of Displaced Mid-Clavicle Fractures by Closed Titanium Elastic Nail
Introduction: Recently, intramedullary nailing for displaced middle third fractures of clavicle has received wide attention. Though open nailing has been widely described, closed nailing finds less mention. This paper therefore aims to study the outcome of closed titanium elastic nailing for displaced mid-clavicular fractures. Material and Methods: This was a prospective study of 34 patients wi...

BACKGROUND Clavicle fractures are common and optimal treatment remains controversial. Recent literature suggests operative fixation of acute displaced mid-shaft clavicle fractures (DMCFs) shortened more than 2 cm improves outcomes. We aimed to identify correlation between plain film and computed tomography (CT) measurement of displacement and the inter- and intraobserver reliability of repeated...
متن کاملComplications After Plate Fixation of Displaced Pediatric Midshaft Clavicle Fractures.
BACKGROUND Operative treatment of displaced pediatric midshaft clavicle fractures has become increasingly popular, despite lack of evidence that surgical management leads to superior outcomes. Complications, such as plate irritation necessitating removal and wound infection, have been reported in adults. The purpose of this study was to evaluate complications after plate fixation of midshaft cl...
متن کاملMidshaft clavicle fractures in adults.
Clavicle fractures remain one of the more common fractures encountered in the orthopaedic office. Nonoperative management remains the standard of care in most cases. However, studies have shown a higher nonunion rate and decreased patient satisfaction in fractures with increased shortening. The malunion resulting from nonoperative management has been shown to be problematic in patients with sig...
